History

Several of the members of this Association's bodies - namely Miriam Nicolau da Costa, Paulo Padilha, João Paulo Matos, Nuno Sapateiro, Paulo Bracons - were members of the Working Groups of the now defunct AFIP, the Fintech and InsurTech Association of Portugal which, in collaboration with Madfintech, has organised the Iberian InsurTech Forums since 2021, among many other events. 

At the end of 2023, and after almost a decade of interesting achievements, the then members of the AFIP Board decided it was time to focus more on other personal projects, and AFIP was dissolved. Several of the members of its working groups, who were not members of AFIP's governing bodies at the time, decided to join forces in order to provide continuity and a new dynamic through FIF, and are now part of its governing bodies, which today has a multifaceted team of experienced managers in the areas of Strategy, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Distribution/Marketing, IT, Operations and Legal (see list of governing body members).

They are united by an enormous curiosity and enthusiasm for innovation in sectors that cut across the needs of society as a whole.
